Now in their 13th year, LUCIFER have cemented their place as one of contemporary heavy rock’s defining bands, always embodying a nihilistic dark, yet timeless return tothe genre’s hard rock and proto heavy metal origins. Though cemented like a crypt at Green-Wood Cemetery NYC, the group is always confidently navigating between sonic tradition and their own unmistakable originality.
At the heart of all this stands Johanna Platow with her haunting voice, her ultra morbid lyrics, love-beyond-death-romanticism peppered with her pitch black, sharp humour and her unwavering passion as a creative force that has solidified LUCIFER’s reputation as one of today’s leading bands, both as a ferocious live act as well as a recording artist.
The critically acclaimed discography of five studio albums (no fillers!), written in collaboration with artists like Nicke Andersson (THE HELLACOPTERS, ENTOMBED) and Gaz Jennings (CATHEDRAL) alongside an armada of stand alone singles and illustrious collaborations featuring the likes of Bobby Liebling (PENTAGRAM) or Joakim Nilsson (GRAVEYARD), has earned the band multiple music award nominations such as several Swedish Grammys, Swedish Radio P3 and Gaffa Price, as well as international chart placements and incredibly favorable music media attention.
Their latest album 'LUCIFER V' was released 2024 on Nuclear Blast Records. Once founding the band in Berlin, meanwhile based in Stockholm, Platow has now begun working on LUCIFER’s sixth studio album to be released in 2027.
With over 300 shows under their belt, LUCIFER has toured the world extensively multiple times across Japan, North & South America and Europe including many international festivals (The KISS Kruise, Psycho Las Vegas, Hellfest, Wacken, MetalDays, Sweden Rock, Bangers Open Air to name a few) and has become heavy force on the stages of the world, the grim reaper always on their heels.
